Getting Involved: The Key To A Strong Co-op
Eight Oaks is managed by five main committees, as well as a board of directors.
The committees are:
- Membership
- Maintenance & Gardening
- Finance
- Policy
- Social
- Long Term Planning
Members agree to participate fully in the operation of the co-op through active participation in at least one committee. This includes helping during work parties, doing a weekly chore, and generally helping when things need to be done (like shoveling snow or raking leaves).
Participation in our community keeps housing charges down and fosters a sense of ownership. Each member is encouraged to attend meetings, voice their opinions, and vote on decisions which affect the co-op.
